May Update – Aquatics

New Coach

We would like to welcome our new swimming coach David. Originally from Spain, he arrived on 25 April and went straight to work. His main responsibility will be the FINA scholarship swimmers coming to train full-time at Thanyapura for a year. 

Coach Marianne will be away from the 23rd of April until the 11th of May.

BIS Invitational Swim Meet

The Thanyapura-PIA swim team attended the British International School invitational swim meet on 2-3 May. A total of 26 swimmers signed up for this meet — thank you to all swimmers and parents for making this possible!

EJSA at the SEA Games

Our Elite Junior Sport Academy swimmers are currently preparing for the SEA Games which will be held from 6-12 June. Congratulations to our qualifiers Ploy Kittiya, Nok Kittiya, Golf Sapainchai and Garfield Loessathapornsuk.

Lane Bookings

Lanes will be booked until the 5th of May for the New South Wales Institute of Sport. On the 7th and 8th of May, the Phuket International Academy will have their swim gala. On the 7th they will use the 25-meter pool in the morning, and on the 8th they will use the 50-meter pool. Due to these reservations, the triathlon workout on Friday 7 May will be conducted at the 25-meter pool.

For January 2016 the pool is now fully booked.

School Holiday Camps

Holiday swim camps begin running from the 6th of July. From the basics to competition, get proper guidance starting at THB 3,200 for a five-day camp or THB 800 drop-in/day. Click here for more information.

Thanyapura Swim Open

The next swim open is on 13 June starting at 8am for children ages 6-18 years. This is a competition for international and Asian swimming clubs, teams, and schools aimed at being one of the premier age group competitions in the world, hosted in our world-class facilities.
