Total Body Transformation Diary: Week 4 of 8 – Maciek.
It’s been 4 weeks since i signed up for the Thanyapura total body transformation program… And I feel better than I have in a long, long time. Here’s why.
Long gone are the initial days, when I could barely make it through a training session. The change in this department is simply incredible. Not only I don’t suffer when exercising, I love it! In fact, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, when I join the transformers group at Thanyapura, are my favorite days of the week, while on the days off, I simply cannot stay put and end up riding my bike, jogging or performing a simple workout in the living room of my house – something absolutely unthinkable just 4 weeks ago. It turns out, exercising is among the most addictive things out there, the difference being that it’s good for you.
Believe me, just a few weeks ago I hated exercise, hated the sweat, the pain, the fatigue?. Why have things changed? There are a few reasons:
The coaches: Highly professional, very helpful and simply friendly guys, who know how to motivate us, prevent injury and maximize the effect of our efforts.
The Transformers: Having other people trying their best around me motivates me to try even harder. It turns I have a bit of competitiveness in me after all.
The landscapes: I especially enjoy the sessions when we go outside and exercise out in the open. Running around the world-class football pitch at Thanyapura, under the stunning Phuket sky, surrounded by all shades of green beats all the time I wasted starring at my TV or tablet.
The diversity: No two sessions are alike. Thanks to the coaches creativity, we’re never bored of the training. There are elements of cardio, weights, in-door and outdoor activities and always something new to look forward to.
Struggle at the table
The more difficult part of the whole process is diet. The list of foods that I’m not supposed to eat is long and includes some of my favorites – no cheese? No bread? No beer? That’s cruel!
Still, I do, for the most part prevail. I learn new ways to enjoy my veggies and finally succeeded in ditching sweetened soda. Here are some of foods that keep me going these days:
- Grilled fish
- Grilled chicken
- Beef steak
- Smoked salmon
- Lots and lots of vegetables
- Fruits for a bit of sweetness
Not so bad of a menu is it?
What came in very handy was the vegetarian festival providing me with a bit of variety in my vegetable-centric diet. It’s hard to find fresh veggies on Phuket’s street food stalls, but multiple veggie curries did just as well.
So what are the results of all this sweat, pain and hunger? 2kg down. Two kilograms less of me in just four weeks. But the change is bigger than what my bathroom scale or a photo might show, the change is inside. I feel healthier, stronger, and more energetic. In short, I feel great!
As for the remaining 4 weeks of the program – bring it on! I can’t wait!
